This parish is located on the north-west end of the island bordered by Saint Elizabeth to the south, east of the parish is Trelawny, Westmoreland and Hanover to the west.  A fun fact about the capital city is its name Montego (Manteca) which is the Spanish word for Lard. The name was formed because there were many wild hogs roaming around when the parish was found and it became the export point for lard. In later years sugar export became very popular in the town of Montego Bay.
